It was often used as a means of soldering gold. Chrysocol is Copper Silicate. It is often formed with Copper Salts, Iron and Manganese Oxides. It is best known for its attractive, vibrant blue-green colour. Its colour is due to the presence of Copper impurities. Pure Chrysocolla is very rare. It often grows with other Copper minerals, giving it interesting and unique colour mixtures and beautiful dotted patterns. Some of the more common mineral mixtures include Azurite, Malachite and Turquoise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Chrysocolla can also be formed with Quartz. These Quartz-Hybrid mixtures are harder and more durable than pure Chrysocolla. Chrysocolla comes in vibrant and attractive shades of light to dark blue and green. Because it often occurs with other Copper minerals, other colours can also appear in its interesting patterns. It can be scratched by other minerals and jewellery and should be worn and cleaned separately. To clean it, simply use soapy water and a soft cloth. Be sure to rinse the stone well to remove any soapy residue. As with most gemstones, ultrasonic cleaners and steamers are not recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is best to store stone jewellery and the stones themselves in a fabric-covered box or wrapped in cloth separately from the others to prevent damage and possible scratches. It is advisable not to wear jewellery during major physical activities such as exercise or sports.
