The shiny inclusions are usually composed of Mica, which usually show up in Aventurine as a medium to dark green colour with a silvery green or blue sheen. In addition to Mica, Hematite and Goethite are also present and cause a characteristic lustre (aventurisation\/avanturisation). Aventurine ranges from light to dark green in colour. The strong presence of Fuchsite means that Aventurine is technically defined as a rock and not as a mineral. Although the most common colour of Aventurine is green, it can also be found in brown, orange, yellow, red or blue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quartz has been used for centuries to make gemstone jewellery and other decorative items. Some of the original tools discovered in Ethiopia (Omo Valley) were made of quartz. Many of the tools from Aventurine are more than two and a half million years old.
