Obsidian has a hardness between 5 and 5.5 on the Mohs scale. Because it is a natural glass, it can be sensitive to scratches and strong impacts, so handle it with care. To clean obsidian, simply use lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth. Make sure to rinse the stone thoroughly and remove all soap residues. Strictly avoid using ultrasonic cleaners and steamers, as they can permanently damage it. Avoid spraying perfume and hairspray directly onto your jewelry. It's recommended not to wear jewelry during more intense physical activities, like sports or exercise. Store your stones and jewelry in a fabric-lined box or wrap them in a soft cloth separately from other crystals, which will reliably prevent scratches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
