History
- It is believed that Amazonite was originally called "Amazon stone" and only later changed to Amazonite after the Amazon River (Brazil). Although it is sometimes believed that Amazonite was found there, it is not found in the river itself. It is a form of potassium feldspar. It has a light green-bluish colour and a glassy lustre. The appearance of Amazonite is particularly unique because of its green-blue-white patterns.

- Amazonite is extremely sensitive to chemicals, bleach, heat, acids and ammonia. Never use steam or ultrasonic cleaners with this stone. Use lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth to avoid reducing the stone's shine. Under extreme heat, the colour of Amazonite may fade.
