What is a pendulum?

How do I use the pendulum?
- Most pendulums are on a chain or cord and are finished with a bung for easy use. To use, hold the bungie at the end of the chain with your thumb and forefinger and allow the pendulum to swing freely. Right-handed people hold the pendulum in their left hand; left-handed people hold the pendulum in their right hand. For better energy flow, the arm should be extended. It is good to start with questions that have a yes or no answer. Please note that you are fully present when using the pendulum and that you are concentrating well on the question. Questions should be clear and precise. You will get the most accurate answers in nature, where there are no distractions (phone, TV, etc.). We recommend a short meditation before using the pendulum itself, as this will relax your body and mind and give you more accurate answers.

How do I get an answer to the question?
- When you find the right pendulum for you, it is first good to know which way the pendulum is swinging to get a yes and no answer. Some pendulums swing up and down, others swing left and right. Here are some methods you can use to clean minerals/crystals from your pendulum:
- 1.Breath- Hold the mineral in the dominant hand or in both palms. Focus your thoughts on the mineral with the intention that all negative energy will be removed from it. While thinking, inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. This breath will remove the negative energy and purify your mineral/crystal. Use your intuition to determine when a particular mineral needs cleansing.
- 2.Seawater - Leave your mineral in sea water (in a ceramic or glass container) overnight. If you don't have sea water available, you can use plain water to which sea salt has been added. Use your intuition to work out how much salt you need and how long you want the mineral to stay in the water (usually one to three days). After cleaning, rinse the mineral well under running water. Do not clean jewellery or pendulums with this method!
- 3.Smoking - use cedar smoke and sage leaves to smoke the minerals/crystals themselves. This method is excellent for purifying your minerals/crystals, yourself and your environment.
- 4.Earth- the earth absorbs negative energy very well. Place the stone/crystal in the soil overnight and rinse it in the morning through lukewarm water. If you ever feel unwell, low on energy, stressed, etc., take your clothes off and walk barefoot on the earth.
