Since agate is a hard and durable mineral (6.5–7 on the Mohs scale), caring for it is simple, but it requires a bit of love to maintain its magical shine: Cleaning: Simply clean the stone with lukewarm, gently soapy water and a soft brush. Strictly avoid harsh household chemicals. Protection: Extreme heat can permanently damage agate and change its color. Also, avoid spraying perfumes or hairsprays directly on the jewelry. Store your agate jewelry separately from other crystals in a box lined with fabric to prevent any scratches.
