Care
- Clean the garnet with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Rinse the stone after washing. Ultrasonic treatments can be used for most garnets, except for the demantoid type. Steam cleaning can cause discolouration from heat. Protect garnets from sharp blows, extreme temperature changes and chemicals.
- It is best to store stone jewellery and the stones themselves in a fabric-covered box or wrapped in cloth separately from the others to prevent damage and possible scratches. It is advisable not to wear jewellery during major physical activities such as exercise or sports. Avoid spraying perfume and hairspray directly on your jewellery and stones.
