History
- The name Septariuum is derived from the Latin word "septuma", meaning seven, or "saeptum", meaning wall or fence. Septarium is a geode of a combination of brown Aragonite, grey Limestone, yellow Calcite and white (clear/translucent) Barite. As the 'beads' dry, their interior shrinks, creating a distinctive pattern of 7 points facing in all directions. Septarian nodules are unique. They are the result of volcanic eruptions and dead sea creatures that have chemically stuck together in the sediment to form mud balls. They are composed of Calcite (yellow centres), brown Aragonite and a grey exterior composed of Limestone.

Care
- The septarium is simply cleaned with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush. As with most stones and jewellery, the use of household chemicals is not recommended for cleaning. Extreme heat can cause permanent damage to the Septaria. It is best to store stone jewellery and the stones themselves in a cloth-covered box or wrap them in a cloth separately from the others to prevent self-damage and possible scratches.
- It is advisable not to wear jewellery during major physical activities such as exercise or sports. Avoid spraying perfume and hairspray directly on your jewellery and stones.
